“Relationships Thrive with Continual Renegotiation & Re-imagining”
Do you feel caught between individual frustration and relationship significance? Or that your relationship has become a high-stakes win/lose proposition where change may feel necessary but the risks appear mountainous? Working through a relational, systemic approach, we can explore and strengthen your relational bonds and your place within them. Often, life is as much about how we tell our stories as it is the content of these narratives. Attachment is a key part of my work with couples and families, being newly seen and heard in more complete ways can be transformative and hope-inducing.
In-person in downtown Columbia and online across South Carolina for state residents.
I look forward to hearing from you and do, at present, have limited availabilities.
About Mark Stewart, Ed.S, LMFT-A
I work with individual adults, couples and families. Life transitions, personal evolutions, relationship struggles and interpersonal conflicts in general are a particular focus of my practice.
Maintaining a safe-place atmosphere where everyone’s feelings, voices and person are respected and valued is a primary goal.
I hold an Ed.S graduate degree from the University of South Carolina, focused in marriage, couples and family therapy. Before that, my career involved decades of mediation and collaboration experience in high-stakes corporate negotiations.
A narrative therapy lens informs my approach to counseling in general. Another evidence-based therapy utilized is Emotionally-Focused Therapy and I have completed my Externship-level training in this approach and am continuing toward full certification.
